Can I build a rough cut in my editor with Claude?
Last updated October 6, 2026
Yes. With access to your footage and editor through MCP, Claude can review recordings, compare takes, remove repeated attempts and unnecessary pauses, and arrange the selected material into a rough cut.
Start by explaining the video you are making, its approximate length, and the sequence you have in mind. If you have a script, provide it to guide the assembly. Specify whether you want a tight delivery or room for natural pauses.
For example: “Build a two-minute product walkthrough. Start with the problem, follow with the demonstration, and finish with the result. Keep the strongest take of each explanation and remove false starts.”
invideo Editor’s MCP connection lets Claude build the rough cut directly on a professional timeline, where you can continue directing the edit or adjust it manually. The connection and ordinary editing tasks are free; Claude’s own usage allowance applies separately.
