Every edit contains two kinds of work. There is the work only the editor can do: the story, the rhythm, the call on which take is the one. And there is the work that eats the day: logging hours of footage, syncing cameras, pulling selects, cutting silences, finding that one shot from Tuesday. An assistant editor that executes on your direction
The assistant editor is not a transcript tool. It watches the footage before it cuts, so it knows who is on screen, what they are doing, and which take was clean.
First draft. Drop in raw footage, with or without a script, and get an editable base cut on the timeline: best takes selected, flubs and filler removed, audio and video on separate layers. If you supplied a script, it flags the lines that were never shot. There is no cap on how much footage you can hand it.
Multicam. Give it a folder per camera, name the camera with the best audio as the anchor, and it frame-matches every angle and switches between them based on who is speaking.
Footage search. Ask for a person, an emotion, an action, an object, a scene, or a camera angle, and it returns the moments that match. No manual logging, no scrubbing.
Match a reference. Point it at a video you like and it matches that reference's pacing, structure, and style in your cut.
B-roll from inside the editor. Ask for the shot you are missing. The assistant editor generates it or searches the stock library and drops it on the timeline. You never leave the project.
Cleanup and delivery. Silence, pause, and filler removal, take swapping, chapter markers, and an exportable transcript, subtitle, and chapter file. Dubbing into other languages with lip sync is built in.
Everything the assistant editor places is a normal clip on a normal timeline. Move it, trim it, undo it, or throw it away.
