The honest ceiling from that same testing: "the current state of the textures that Google is offering, I'm not so sure if they're ready for prime time cinema yet." Native 4K is what positions the model for big-screen work once VFX capability catches up — resolution alone doesn't get footage to theatrical grade.

Veo 3.1 remains the baseline Omni is benchmarked against, and it holds one practical advantage: scene extension currently works only on clips generated in Veo 3.1, not on Omni-generated content — so if your shot will need extending, generate it in Veo 3.1 even at a lower native resolution and upscale after. Kling 3.0 generates multi-shot sequences natively, which matters when your 4K deliverable is a sequence rather than isolated clips.
How to choose. Match the model to the deliverable: Omni Flash when you need the highest native resolution and its texture quality, Veo 3.1 when the shot may need extending, Kling 3.0 for native multi-shot work.
