Plenty of people like putting their favorite songs, ASMR videos, meditation guides, and many other kinds of video content on repeat. Since there are over two billion monthly users on YouTube, it makes sense that many of them use the platform as their primary channel for relaxation, motivation, and entertainment. It’s practical to be able to set up a video to play on repeat while you’re unwinding or doing other tasks.

For quite some time, users resorted to various solutions, such as third-party tools, to play YouTube videos on repeat. It wasn’t until YouTube decided to finally replace Adobe Flash Player with HTML5 in 2015 that the ability to loop a video was introduced. Now, you can set up your favorite videos to replay as long as you want in just a few clicks. The issue is that the mobile version of YouTube is lagging behind with this feature. If you’re a mobile user, you’re still going to have to rely on workarounds.

That’s why in this article, we will take a look at how both desktop and mobile users can loop YouTube videos. Not just that but we will also show you how to loop your own videos and media files using InVideo’s online editor.

Let’s dive right in!

How to loop YouTube videos on desktop?

Google has made it easy for desktop users to watch their favorite YouTube videos on repeat. If you’re using a browser such as Firefox or Chrome, you can set up the loop in a few simple steps. You can do so by using:

1. Right-click
2. Right-click + Shift key

1. How to loop a YouTube video with right-click?

With YouTube’s migration to HTML5, users have finally been enabled to loop any video with just a couple of mouse clicks. What you need to do is:

1. Search for a video you want to loop
2. Open the video
3. Right-click anywhere within the video borders
4. Click on Loop in the menu

Once you’ve done this, your video will keep playing on repeat until you right-click on it once more and uncheck Loop to deactivate the option.

2. How to loop a YouTube video with right-click + Shift key?

If for any reason, you can’t find the loop option when you right-click on the video, you can open an alternate menu by using both the mouse and the shift key. You need to:

1. Open the video you want to loop
2. Hold the shift key and right-click on the video
3. Select Loop from the alternate menu

If the alternate menu doesn’t open in your browser on the first click, keep holding the shift key and right-click one more time. This option used to be only available in Chrome, but you can now find it in other browsers as well, such as Firefox.

Unfortunately, the simple option for looping a YouTube video that was introduced to desktop browsers doesn’t exist on mobile devices yet. You have to turn to one of the other available solutions. These are:

1. Creating a playlist
2. Using YouTube video looping websites

1. Looping YouTube videos by creating a playlist

If you’ve got a YouTube account, you can create a playlist from a single video manually without having to edit links and open it whenever you feel like watching it on repeat.

Here’s how it’s done:

1. Open the video on your YouTube mobile app
2. Tap on the video
3. Tap and hold the Save button below the video
4. Choose the option New Playlist
5. Give your new playlist a title
6. Set up whether it’s public, private, or unlisted
7. Go to your Library
8. Open the playlist you created
9. Tap the Repeat button

2. Using YouTube video looping websites

You can find a wide range of websites for looping YouTube videos. One of the primary benefits of using some of these sites is that you can choose a specific part of the video to loop. The downside is that many of them are full of ads and may contain malware. You can try a solution such as Infinite Looper for the job.

Now that we’ve covered how you can set up a YouTube video to play in a loop, let’s take a look at how you can create a fantastic video loop using one of the best video editing apps on the market.
