The fastest motion-graphics workflow in DaVinci Resolve is to build everything inside the Fusion tab — no round-tripping to a separate compositing app. Assemble elements as nodes, animate pop-ins with 1–2-frame offset keyframes plus one-key S-curve easing, track overlays to moving footage with the built-in Tracker, and finish with adjustment-clip effects. A polished cinematic screen animation takes 5–10 minutes this way.
Open the Fusion tab on the clip you want to animate — this is Resolve's core speed advantage, since node-based motion graphics happen in the same project with no export/import round-trip (Blackmagic's official positioning for Fusion). Then run this sequence:
1. Build your elements as nodes. Create your cards, text, and shapes directly in Fusion. For flat UI-style elements (comment cards, info boxes, labels), add a Quick Bevel node — a subtle bevel and gradient instantly gives flat rectangles depth and a polished look without extra design work.
2. Animate pop-ins with offset keyframes. For any element entering the frame, keyframe its width and height separately and offset the height animation by 1–2 frames from the width. 5. Finish with adjustment clips. Stack your finishing effects as adjustment clips over the composition: Edge Detect with increased edge blur and width at low brightness creates a subtle glow that keeps animations from looking flat; two Scan Lines instances rotated 90° to each other at high frequency and low sharpness simulate a screen dot-matrix; a dust overlay at around 8% opacity adds cinematic texture. Keep scan lines on their own clip, separate from other effects, so you can fade them out independently.
