How do you speed up AI-generated video that plays too slow without regenerating the clip?

Playback speed on an AI-generated clip is fixable in post — retime it in an editor like Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve instead of regenerating. Detach the clip's native audio first, apply a Speed/Duration change, and above roughly 1.5× check for steppy motion. AI-generated motion speed is never final.

Retime the clip in your editor — motion that generates too slow can be corrected in post by speeding it up, and documented AI productions treat generation speed as a starting point, not a locked result. Here is the workflow:

1. Import the clip like any other footage. Clips generated with the invideo agent download as standard video files, and the invideo agent is a production asset generator — final retiming belongs in your NLE. AI clips import into Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve exactly like camera footage, with no special pipeline.

4. Check motion quality above roughly 1.5×. Large speed-ups can read as steppy because you are discarding frames; editors solving this in community threads recommend moderate increments and enabling your NLE's optical flow or frame blending interpolation rather than a single aggressive jump.

5. If pacing still feels slow, cut instead of stretching. Global retiming fixes slow motion within a shot; it does not fix a shot that simply runs long. In one documented 3-minute production, only 5 seconds of each 15-second generated clip made the timeline on average, and 41 of 164 clips survived to the final cut — most pacing problems in AI footage are solved by trimming to the seconds where the action lands, not by speeding the whole clip.
