Start editing the moment the first clip lands — don't wait for the queue. Generate in small batches of 5, pull each locked clip straight into your NLE (Premiere Pro or invideo's Slate timeline), lay it against locked audio and pacing, and run a second sub-agent in parallel on the next batch while you cut.

Lock the spine before any clip exists. Before you trigger generation, lock the five things that govern the cut: hook, script, voiceover, shot breakdown, and duration. With those locked, finished clips drop into known slots — you're filling a timeline, not discovering one. "At this point I have the hook, the script, the VO, the shot breakdown and the duration all locked in so we can now move into production," is how invideo's team frames the gate.
Generate in batches of 5, not the full shot list. Tell the invideo agent to animate the storyboard in batches of 5 clips. Smaller batches give you finished clips to cut against within minutes, and they save credits — "smaller batches just give me more freedom to iterate quickly and early, and more importantly, they save a ton of credits compared to if I was generating all 15 clips at once and then finding something that's gone off." Seedance 2.0 caps output at 15 seconds per clip anyway, so the agent decomposes long shots into batches automatically.
Pull clips into the edit as each one locks. As soon as a clip passes review, drop it into Premiere Pro or Slate (invideo's built-in timeline) in its storyboard slot — don't wait for the rest. Half your edit is built by the time the final clip renders, and you catch story problems early enough to redirect generation cheaply.
Use placeholder slots for in-progress clips. For every shot still generating, hold its slot on the timeline with the locked storyboard frame (a still image) trimmed to its target duration. The cut plays end-to-end at any point — locked audio, music, and supers running over a mix of finished video and storyboard stills. When the real clip arrives, it swaps in without disturbing pacing or surrounding cuts.
Run a second sub-agent in parallel on independent shots. If your shot list splits into sets that don't depend on each other (e.g., two characters in separate scenes), spin up a second sub-agent inside the same invideo project and generate both sets at once. "Same project, same context, 2 agents running in parallel — it doubled the output, halved the time," per invideo's team — and because the project context is shared, no references re-upload. You cut against batch A while batch B renders, then flip.
Lock audio, music, and transitions up front so clip swaps don't break the cut. Generate the voiceover and lay it in first; pick the music bed; mark transition points. Now any clip that swaps in only has to hit its in/out timecodes — the rhythm of the ad is already established. This is also why the image-first iteration discipline matters: lock framing on a cheap still image, only spend video credits on the locked frame, so the clip that lands is the one you actually cut to.
Flag rejects and re-queue without stalling. Clip rejection rates are real — one production rejected ~85% of generated clips, another used 10 of 39 (26%), another used 7 of 7. Don't let a reject pause the edit. Mark the slot, fire a regeneration on that one shot (variation in pose, angle, or beat), keep cutting on everything else. By the time you've finished assembling the rest, the regen is back.
Review on mobile while the laptop generates. invideo's mobile app lets you approve generations away from your desk: "I just set it running on the laptop. I walk away. I'm going for my coffee or I'm going down for a smoke and I'm just reviewing and approving these gens on my phone." The edit progresses asynchronously — generation, review, and assembly all happen in parallel rather than sequence.
